I can't believe how much I still think about the mission Xela! Every day there is something that happens that makes me miss or think about it. (I'm not exaggerating when I say every day.) I always hear that nothing lasts forever, but I still feel like I'm waking up in the humidity, eating quesadillas for breakfast, tamales for lunch, and a giant pan of fried rice for dinner; with, of course, fresh sandilla and mango along the way.
I love talking to some of the people on the phone. It's always exciting to answer the phone and hear, "halo? Elder coax? como esta?" and then I get to play the guessing game to figure out who's calling. (They never say "this is so and so.") They just start talking and telling me things, sometimes they ask for money. (I wish I had some to give them) Maybe some day . . .
So for all of you who have never been to Guatemala, here is a sneak peak at the Celestial Kingdom.
